What happens here

With the soil prepared, it's time to plant the evergreen trees. A Caterpillar 259D Compact Track Loader, fitted with a tree spade attachment, is used to carefully lift a large balled and burlapped White Pine tree and maneuver it into the pre-dug trench. A worker guides the tree as it's lowered into position. During placement, the burlap from the top portion of the root ball is cut and removed to prevent root girdling, and the wire basket is partially cut away as the tree settles into the hole. The tree is then carefully backfilled with the amended soil mixture, ensuring firm contact around the root ball while avoiding compaction.

Goal: Successfully plant the new evergreen trees.
