What happens here
This project demonstrates how to use the 'Rock Away' skid steer attachment to transform a rough, debris-filled backyard into a finely graded, seed-ready area. The process involves operating the attachment with a skid steer to remove rocks, sticks, and other unwanted materials, while simultaneously conditioning and leveling the soil. The video highlights the attachment's efficiency and ease of use for achieving a professional-grade finish.

(18,373 characters)[Music] got a long way to go before we're done but she's coming along but that's my backyard's not why we're here for today what we've got is a brand new attachment coming one I've never used before I'm pretty pumped about it so let's go check it out it should be coming on the semi here pretty quick you didn't catch it we built these stairs in a different video so check that out we want to know how we turn the closet into a staircase this is it right here that turned out so much nicer than I thought it was going to too I was a little worried that the stairs were going to be tight and everything was going to be tight nothing's tight feels good all right but let's go get the new attachment loaded off the truck [Music] big trucks bring big toys those are the best kind how you doing doing good thank you doing good is this your last delivery of the day oh no no do I got a sign oh yeah okay I want to see it first to see if you wrecked it before I signed for it picks and contains rocks Rockaway is what it's called [Applause] [Music] looks like we got to get the pin in on this side Zach a pin looks like we need a PIN right there and it looks like that's a hose keeper now I remember I delivered all your parts for your Mustang for my Mustang that was it's got a V6 in it right yeah yeah yeah I got it set up so so however long ago that was like 2014 2015. seven gears seven eight six seven years ago at least jeez you got a good remembery so you want to see what it looks like she needs a good a good wash and it looks like the birds have taken a lake and they're taking a crap on it but yeah it really does a nice transformation on them got all the skirts that's a cervini body kit then I put an additional hood on so I went with an optional hood and put on some Hodgkin's pins and so did you beat the exhaust up then or no oh yeah yeah I switched the exhaust wrong yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah what am I saying yep yeah that's the that's the Mad Max Challenger right there so anyway we'll have a great day we've got more crap buried in this dirt and rocks and chunks of cement and sticks and everything that you can possibly not want growing in your lawn it's all right here all to be played with all right so what do you think we go backwards on it that's what I I think because if you're going forwards with it you're more or less scooping with the bucket you want to kind of have it down and kind of maybe slightly tilt it a little bit because this whole thing's meant to float so whatever down and tilted it is [Applause] [Music] you know I thought it was going to do a good job of grading I had no clue that this was even buried in there this does I mean I thought it was going to do a good job of picking rocks you know just getting the rocks out I would have never imagined that it would do this good of a job grading like finish grading and look at the size of this son of a duck that it pulled out I had no clue uh I don't know what to say let's keep going I'll give this a few more swats let's check it out look it over and see how it did for a grading job look at this this is a night and day difference this is what I had right there just that nasty dirty Rocky on you're not gonna get nothing to grow there well look what I got now I throw some seed down here seed is gonna pop yeah do you think this could be ready for seed at this point that turned some nasty ground and uh that's pulverized pretty much yeah that's that's pulverized I never imagined it was going to grade that good though I didn't either I didn't I mean this this ground was horrendous the only thing I've seen great as good as this is the CMP Hydra bucket for tilling and softening the ground except the CMP doesn't take anything away the CMP just grades it this is actually taking the crap that we don't want with it what's that yeah so to repeat what Zach said in case you didn't hear it pop a pin there pop a pin there take off the Hydraulics and then you just use the bucket to finish great and then when you're ready to to rock away because that's what it's called a Rockaway then you just two pins and hook up two hoses that is slick damn that is a slick setup [Music] just to be clear it does not handle Stones this big these I hand picked I would not want to put this Rockaway bucket up against stuff like this [Music] foreign Brandon is the guy that I got the rock Bucket from just right back there let's back up a little bit Frankie's coming in it's with the shovel you're just trying to look freaky whatever look at Zach Zach with the shovel isn't he freaky oh you hit him and then he can bury him you don't gotta worry about grabbing two separate weapons oh it's a multi-purpose tool what do you expect kill him and then hide the body are you Brandon I'm Brandon nice to meet you Brad nice to meet you what did you send me you like it I love it do you I honestly I will tell you straight up I've used it maybe 20 minutes okay and it compares to one of my favorite grading tools of all time which is the CMP Hydra bucket no way and the Hydra bucket has this rotor tiller in the back which fine tunes everything and then you can use the edge of the bucket to grade everything out except when it Roto tills everything it just leaves it behind yours does what the CMP bucket does and then it picks it up and hauls it out it's freaking phenomenal and it's so easy to get up and into it I mean there's just so many things that I already like about this bucket awesome yeah I mean I I yeah let's go up and check it out it's time to wear a hat is when I need to by him okay here hold that way is that okay so let me ask you something with the the Rockaway bucket is that what it's called yes Rockaway bucket Rockaway yeah how many sizes do you sell three okay we do an 84 inch 74 inch and we do a mini 44 inch they're like stand on skid steers like dingos what is this one this is the 84 inch this is the big one oh this is the big dog look at the gate yeah it barely fit through the gate okay so is are they do you size them for specific size pieces of equipment yeah the idea with the 84 inch is that if you have a track loader it's going to be wider than most track loaders okay so the 74 inch um is going to be wider than a lot of the small wheel loaders so some guys are running smaller ones so we make something that's a little bit more affordable and a little bit smaller okay when you say affordable let's talk about prices we look at this what would be the what's the price breakdowns on each one of these yeah so this one retails for uh eight thousand six hundred okay uh the 74 is 8139 and then the 44 inch is like 7294 or something like that okay so you're not like there's a big price difference between them [Laughter] what's the warranty on them uh your warranty on everything you know we're gonna we're gonna cover everything the first year and and we don't we don't get calls about stuff so the couple things I want to show that uh I I noticed like right away the hoses like instantly I looked at these hoses and said oh they're actually size the right size for the piece of equipment I've gotten I've gotten attachments before where they use little dishwasher hoses yeah and uh I've had Zach the first time Zach ever showed up to my job site he had to fix one of those attachments that had the dishwasher size hose on it your hoses are in a protective sheath you've got a clamp on them you've got a hose yep a hose tender on them yeah so basically the goal is really just to have a super simple to operate attachment one rotor two sets of spiral teeth the teeth are made out of hard rock steel right so the spiral pulls everything kind of towards the center as it's raking everything out porting on the front porting on the top that allows some of that soil to filter out and get conditioned a little bit reinforced push bar on the front so that allows you to push a little bit with it too if you want to so you're going to find out as as you're leveling out you know your your ground and everything you can push with it as well as back dragon uh rake everything out there's only two grease points uh the the bearings on the outside on either side of the rotor it's the only place you got to grease it then the hood is just attached to the bucket um so with two with two pins here two pins so I noticed that you if you want you don't wanna choose the rock Creator or the what the Rock picker you can pull two pins pop the hose off and you just got a bucket exactly yep I mean it's just like we just we just want a great end product for the user you know and everybody who's out here just breaking their backs you know doing the work we want them to have as few problems as possible and be able to get work done what's the problems that you've heard from guys on using this uh teeth break off so that's one thing so they're all welded on individually right so if teeth break off we sell the teeth an individual tooth is 13 bucks or if you want a whole set we'll give you you know we'll cut you deal on that you send them a tooth they get a well the dot they can weld it on yeah and if they want to send it back like we'll do it for them too like if you break one tooth it's not going to affect you know if you break 10 off then it's probably going to start to affect the performance you can send it to us and we'll fix it what else do we need to know about it is there a right lane or wrong way to run it um it's got to be running reverse obviously right so you got to backtrack with it so I mean but it's my favorite director I'm not joking I do everything bass accurate I grew upgrading bass backwards these fins these air vents right here yeah they're designed so when I'm sitting in the cab and I've only ran this for a little bit but but I can actually see right straight through the top ones through the front ones so I can watch the material and I can judge exactly where the front of my bucket is by looking through the vents and seeing exactly where everything is coming out nice so if you run it this way you're going to kick stuff into the front of the hood see I was doing it I was kicking stuff were you really yeah I was taking stuff into the front of the hood and I was getting great results well try the I mean try both ways okay but my like I would say if you're running it this way you want to pull stuff backing out backing up okay that makes sense I was just getting a lot of material when I was doing it that way but I tell you you haven't got to see the ground let me just show you what I'm working with this is this is as bad a ground as there ever was if you look at this soil this stuff was imported like 53 years ago from Minneapolis hard pack clay and I've got crap in here that I don't even I can't even imagine Zach just pulled out a big chunk of a glass bottle that we found buried in here this is terrible that's crazy that's the after Brandon look at that looks pretty great doesn't it that doesn't even look like I need black dirt anymore I love it that's beautiful yeah this is this is the best this soil has ever looked in my life so now what are you going to do with this area are you going to landscape it it's none of your business totally fair uh no I'm gonna so I'm gonna mulch all this and uh I wanted I want to get one more fruit tree in here because I want to become self-sufficient I want to plant the hell out of this but this area is going to be my dog run so the dogs in your flat level spot so nice yeah this looks awesome yeah look at that look how pulverized it is the only thing I wish is that it would pulverize a little deep that would be nice if it could go a little bit deep so that's a good thing that's a good thing to touch on and we talked about that on the phone too before I came out here uh you're gonna get about three quarters of an inch down every pass right and you're only going to be able to go a couple passes before this stuff is so fine that you're not going so maybe two inches two inches that's probably yeah that's that's pretty like Fair consistent yeah okay yeah the number one thing we want to see this thing do is pull out rocks and debris and and everything like that and then make the soil like ready to be conditioned but it does it does do some amazing conditioning this was this is sod ready yeah to me I mean yep just just laying going because that's like legitimately what I'm gonna do yeah I'm just going to toss some side down over the top of this after I give her a few more passes mm-hmm yeah I want to tell them where they can get it Stan okay where do you get it Brandon uh so there's there's a number of places so we do have dealers on our website if you go to idealrockaway.com okay that's our website and so you can find our dealer page with all of our listed dealers skidsteersdirect.com just picked us up recently because our attachments available on there um you can submit a court request you can buy directly from us especially if you're closer to Pennsylvania so that's what we're working on is expanding our dealer Network okay um so we're working on that so that's a word so if you're a dealer I'm going to recommend you pick these up because this is every bit one of the best attachments that I've put on in front of my skid loader for grading and for everything that I've seen it do so far that's so far that's crazy to hear yeah but that's awesome I mean I just I love the fact and it's so simple it's just a it's just a well laid out concept I don't want the the cherry picker on the front two pins two hoses drop it off and now I can fine tune everything with the bucket drive right up to it hook it back up and I'm back in business and I'm back collecting my stuff yep it's a one and you're done yeah yeah yep it's made it's made to be simple easy to operate reliable works every time that's what we want I've heard from some people about other brands where like sometimes chains will break where they're they have too many moving Parts going on or multiple sets of teeth or multiple like rotors right so like different ones operate differently that's why we emphasize just the single rotor super simple design two bearings and it's just going to rotate and pull stuff out just keep it very simple so a guy can do what he's got to do it's not over complicated and if something does go wrong heaven forbid it's not that crazy to pop the hood open and to get back in business I love it when you keep it simple so a guy can do this the job themselves yeah we say around the shop a lot that simple wins we try to keep it's as simple as possible everything that we do so our marketing our website our our machines like just try to keep it simple so you flew in from Pennsylvania yep just for this yeah damn yes all right well get out of my property I got work to do see you Miranda all right guys let's get back to work let's send this guy back to Pennsylvania that was the best eight minutes of his life wish my wife would say that [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] okay you guys just let's take a look I've I've gone over this area I gave it a good once over with it I don't I can't imagine any grading attack when I have yet that would have prepped this ground this good I've got a lot of great grading attachments amazing ones but none of them take the stuff that I don't want away that's the difference this is actually taking everything that I don't want away and leaving the ground pretty much combed and ready for seed for finished grading this may be this may be the ultimate tool I don't know but you guys tell me what you think of it um will this fit in other equipment yes yep so it's going to fit on anything with a standard skid loader attachment okay we can do custom attachment plates we do dingoes we do anything else uh we do have a three-point rig for it um so it can go on the back of a tractor too with a three-point attachment really yep yeah now that costs a little more because it's a little more to fabricate but we do three point attachment offers as well so yeah cool so then you can drive your tractor forward and pull it you can drive your tractor forward and it can run you could run the rotor and just drag it behind a tractor this is ready for seed this is ready for Sod at this point I don't I don't even have to rake it hey Brandon yes we're gonna go over here so let's go Brandon [Laughter] just like that the video is canceled [Music] the Detachment does not require high flow to operate it it can just operate off from standard flow alone [Applause] thank you all right you guys well obviously it works just as good on the mini as it did on the skid here's what's left after a couple passes here's where we came from that's what it looks like after a few passes um Brandon if you guys want more information on this thing where do they go what do they got to do yep so they can check us out online on our website idealrockaway.com they can find us on Facebook they can find us on Instagram they can call us 717-929-0472 okay you just give us a call check out our website we're on Facebook we're also on YouTube ideal Rockaway landscape rake all those social media channels essentially Perfect all right well Brandon thanks for coming all the way out from Pennsylvania thanks for having me oh man it was awesome awesome having you this is an awesome attachment because it just does it the proof is right here that you guys can see it I want to know from you guys what you thought of it um I am legitimate I thought I was gonna pick rocks I didn't know it was going to condition the soil so well yeah that's the that's the thing that really shocked and surprised me is just this is seed ready sod ready just so nice one and you're done yep all right yeah the thing anyway I could sit here and go on and on but that's it for this one I want to say thank you to you guys for subscribing thinking to you guys for tuning in and watching the videos some of you guys are commenting just to comment to help the algorithm on I want a good big big shout out to you guys for doing that I see you doing it and I just appreciate it so much because
