TURNING a staircase 4K

all right good morning one and all we got a busy day today because we are going to be putting in a set of steps we're a set of steps stairs never existed in here it's a tiny room it's a Tiny's face we're gonna try to sneak a set of steps in so we can get from the upper Barn to the lower Barn it's not that complicated to do these things so we've done them in a number of different projects and today I figured it would be a great chance for me just to take you along for the ride and show you what we've done um so that you guys if you're tackling a project on this like this on your own you just follow along so let's get started but unlike what you probably got to do the first thing we got to do is clean up the bottom basement and it's full full so let's get that let's get that done and then we'll start putting in the stairs [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] hello [Music] [Applause] [Music] somebody [Music] can you get out oh you grab the fan we can make it higher you know and then it can go side to side not just blow one spot so you get some airmoon otherwise all the steps now you see are safe they're all screwed down whatever's on on fall hopefully not yeah no that wasn't bad all right so with this configuration what we've got to do is move the wall that wall the purple wall oh you just got a duck like I did I suppose well I'm gonna have that out probably tonight I don't know if we'll get that wall up to this week no probably tomorrow but I'll get that so it's actually easier to get once because once I put them beams up yeah my my permanent ones and that beam can come out then I can cut that floor joist out so you get a box what are you gonna do you're gonna box this header it off right yeah well I'm just going to run a beam yep right here under these three floor joists catch these three floor joists to support God look how much that floor is sinking right where Nikki is you can just see the whole thing just goes like that yeah and you know I jacked it up what how many winners that go with these you know I think we got to Jack them up again right yeah anything no nothing no this is due time and just it's everything's just way back down to the Earth like gravity goes to all of us yeah yeah I wonder how old this Barn is oh no I like to know because well I'm black that's right see that's why I put that the triple pulse like that I couldn't conquer I couldn't uh tap condoms um green treat into the yeah it was like 1896. so we're talking about over 100 years old yeah yeah I mean it's in good shape the corners are busting out but we're gonna try to fix that though but I mean for for us all I mean we've seen a lot of Barnes yeah we've seen a lot of barns that are on the ground with this all this area right oh yeah even way before yep they've got concrete I'm gonna concrete them Corners through all the cracks in my concrete because what you make them work getting worse is water's going in there in the wintertime and it's freezing and it keeps pushing it farther yep free saw cycle tears it apart so we got a divert the water away from the car no we're going to fill them in this is what's happening right here see how that's separating that's not a little separation that's a pretty big separation so you can that's the problem and that's got to get filled in here I'll show you I'll show you if we look great see that yeah yeah see that's how much it separated wow and that is every time you know in the spring the water gets in there freezes pops it apart and then it thaws then it freezes pops it apart it's just gonna legitimately pop that foundation wall right off so it must be something's probably living in there well something could be living in there but that's just a spot for water to get in and make do more damage so just some preventive maintenance like that goes a long way to keep these things and you got to take down this tree yeah I gotta take this tree down because something is living inside of it [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] all right you guys let's give you an update the stairs are done and I know I showed you before but we kind of uh we've been building stuff out here to get everything secured and wrapped up tight out here so let's show you how this is coming along but after all construction has been completed so there's a completed wall we're not going to sheetrocket this is just a barn no reason to make it too fancy we did put this light on a motion sensor except everybody turns it off on me so I don't know why people turn it up so check it out there it is wide open this staircase is really really nice I mean it just plenty of room really comfortable for a staircase and here you go she just got a good feel to her like she was always meant to be and I think that's the most important thing it's just to have it so it's always just not awkward good Cadence good Rhythm to the stairs themselves the hand railing everything is placed well you know it doesn't have to be fancy it has to be functional and I think we nailed it as far as that goes so I'd like to hear your projects what you're working on sometimes we have home runs and sometimes we have home flops I admit it I got no problem admitting it because we're always experimenting over here always trying to push the envelope try to do something new because it's fun and I want to ask you guys a question do you like the variety on this channel because I could do one thing and one thing only I could do make the Channel all about grading or I could make it all about making Tall Grass short or I could make it all about one thing or some other one thing but that's too boring to me I love doing new things and taking on new challenges and winning failing but sharing it all no matter
