What happens here
Once the stain is dry, apply a clear coat to seal and protect the wood. Using an Apollo Precision-6 Black Edition Gun, spray an even layer of Renner 851 Clearcoat over all stained surfaces of the shelf. Ensure a consistent application to avoid drips or runs. This clear coat will provide a foundation for the subsequent glazing step. Allow the clear coat to dry completely as per manufacturer's instructions.
