Backup Emergency HEAT

What happens here

Following a similar process to the exhaust, install the intake flue system. Begin with the interior pipe section, connecting it to the stove's intake. Apply sealant around the exterior intake hole. Position the exterior wall heat shield and secure it with screws. Insert the exterior intake pipe section, ensuring it connects properly with the interior pipe. Finally, attach the exterior cap to the end of the intake pipe, directing it downwards to prevent rainwater intrusion.

Goal: Assemble and secure the pellet stove's intake piping through the wall.

Tools and materials

  • ComfortBilt Pellet Stove ComfortBilt — Connecting the intake pipe
  • Cordless Drill Milwaukee — Securing the heat shield
  • Double-Walled Flue Pipes — Forming the intake pipe run
  • Exterior Pipe Cap — Finishing and protecting the exterior intake pipe
  • Exterior Wall Heat Shield — Creating safe clearance where the intake pipe exits the wall
  • Screws — Securing the heat shield
  • Sealant — Sealing around the exterior heat shield

shield so yeah now part of the reason the materials for this project cost so much is because anytime we penetrate an outside wall we always have to use a double wall pipe a single wall pipe you probably already know this but for somebody that may be looking at this is an option a single wall pipe is a fire hazard a double wall pipe allows just enough space so that when you're doing the installation there's a heat Gap so you don't have a hot pipe sitting directly on a wall but let's just watch this thing get finally put back together and see how it comes out
