5 FANTASTIC HACKS for Painters! Hand Masker Tips!
What happens here
To keep track of small items like screws, especially when disassembling fixtures or hardware, tear off a piece of 9-inch masking paper from a hand masker. Fold the paper in half or create a pocket by folding over an edge and securing it with 1-inch painter's tape to form a sealed bottom and side(s). This creates a small container or pouch. Drop the screws or other small parts into the pouch. Because it's paper, you can easily label it with a marker, noting what's inside (e.g., '6 cup hooks') and where they came from (e.g., 'Bedroom 2'). The pouch can then be folded over and taped shut, securing the contents. These individual pouches can be stored in a bucket or toolbox and easily retrieved when needed, providing clear identification and preventing loss.
Goal: This tip shows how to quickly create small, labeled pouches from masking paper and tape to store and organize screws and other small hardware, preventing them from getting lost on the job site.
