5 Bathroom Painting Tips. HOW TO PAINT A ROOM

What happens here

After the first 'skim coat' on the walls has dried, move on to the ceiling cut-ins. Using your 3-inch angled sash brush, apply a heavy coat of paint along the ceiling edges where it meets the walls. The aim here is to achieve full coverage in one pass if possible. Immediately after cutting in a section, use a 4-inch roller (loaded from your cut-in bucket) to back-roll over the wet cut-in paint. This technique helps to blend the brush strokes with the rolled texture of the wall, preventing visible lines and ensuring a consistent finish. For a small bathroom, this process should take about 15 minutes.

Goal: Perform cut-ins along the ceiling line with a brush, applying a heavy coat, and then immediately back-roll with a small roller to blend and ensure even texture.
