Fix Stripped Screws In Wood. Door Hinge Repair.

this chrissy idaho painter in this video i'm going to show you how to fix some strip screws on a door jamb where i can't actually screw my screws into the wood anymore because the holes are all too big and too stripped i've got a striker plate right here and this door has been kicked in multiple times and the screw holes are really big so they actually had some really long screws which is unusual because it's so messed up but this long screws were able to screw into the 2x4 behind the door jamb but we're going to show you how we can actually fix this fill it in make it right and make it so you can just screw it in with the right screws and all you got to do is just use a wooden golf tee and some gorilla glue i'm just going to add a little bit of gorilla glue to my golf tee just take a simple hammer hammer that golf tn let it dry and now you're gonna have wood backing to screw your screw into once again really nice and convenient add a little bit of gorilla glue to the golf tee and the gorilla glue expands you know and blows up and actually fills in a lot of the area too around that hole really nicely the gorilla glue works a lot better than say just regular wood glue i like something that actually expands and fills up that area also so you just put it in there snap it the excess off and now you have some wood backing in there once again that's strong that that screw can screw to we got two strip screws just gonna put some more drill a glue on here put it in the top one and this method works really well for stripped hinge screws too so if your door jamb has stripped hinge screws in the door gem or even the door it works for the door even holo hollow core doors it's a great method i've used it for door jambs striker plates and doors very simple easy to do all you got to do is purchase some wood golf tees some gorilla glue and just have a hammer if you need these tools you can just find them or the products you can find them in my video description below or you can go to my tool store on my website the idahopainter.com [Music] hope you've enjoyed this video how to repair strip screws we'll see you on my next video
