1st day with New Mowers and we SMACK a Tree!!

[Music] hey siri what's the tempo it's 34 degrees outside all right guys we got some brand new equipment we're going to be taking it out for the very first time mowing let's see how new this stuff is point seven tenths of an hour so this little this little guy 36 inch stand on stays with me this is called the super 88 with fold up wings i may end up buying it because the 104 was amazing and this is the new kawasaki 60 inch with efi is also mine but let's let's see how this thing sounds dead cold firing up for the first time oh that's a wet seat that's not gonna happen we don't have to wipe it off we have to bang it out that's what she said all right guys i'm gonna jump in here and just explain to you what's going on here i bought two hustlers mowers but i made arrangements with hustler to be able to test different mowers over the course of the entire season so today is day one of a long-term test yeah yeah so if you don't want to die you actually got to keep something off so what i did different was i bought two mowers that i normally wouldn't let me explain to you in a i love minute parking brake is on see him raise that deck with that button i was just telling these guys about putting the biggest mower on the back but we have enough counterweights up front that we're good yeah but they do yeah but they do all right this is a little baby that we're using so it's a 36 yeah 36 inch deck little tiny guy but with that we should be able to get in between the house is really good which is something that we have to weed with now so hopefully this will cut down on our weed whipping time because that kind of sucks that's a really long walk if i'm being honest with you guys so hopefully that works out like that all right i normally wouldn't buy a 36 inch stand on but in our company we prefer stand-ons and one of our smallest stand-ons gets used the most but it's i think 45 inches so i thought what if i gave something a try that could squeeze in between a gate but was still a on more just how much would the guys use it the second mower i bought is a little bit different though and i'll get to that in a minute i want to just show you this mower this mower i'm testing out last year we tried out the 104 sit down but we don't like sit downs we prefer stand-ons this is an 88-inch and watch as it goes around these turns it's such a big mower it's able to make big gradual sweeping turns and it's surprisingly not doubting so i don't know if that's intentional or if that's just when we're when you're moving this big machine but look at it nothing no no grass here and this is wet ground man this is really wet ground this is let's go where it's kind of dug up a little bit show you just how soft this ground is it's snowing and it's snowing while we're mowing it it is april snowing while we're mowing in april all right i'm gonna grab the rest to get the rest of that cut up over [Music] so on our biggest property we have a lot of really really tight spaces and what i found is my other mower was getting used a ton so what if i got one even smaller to get in smaller spaces oh [Music] that was bad tree rubs are bad oh [Music] bad bad bad that was honestly really bad i had a guy actually scuff the bark right off from a tree all the way around and that can kill a tree if you don't if you're not conscious about that [Music] but sam loves this little 36 inch stand on he's got the other two that he could be hopping on and using but this one he hopped on and i thought i thought this camera was a goner for sure watch these side wings they're actually designed to float and hover with the ground so the deck has one position and both side wings can move up and down now what i did with this bleed was i wanted to mix it up and just to see if different combinations improved efficiency overall or decreased it and try to narrow down what the guys liked and didn't like and that leads me to my third pick of the mower the one i bought was the 60 inch [Music] zero turn sit down we don't use sit downs in our company never really prefer them that much but some of you guys do and so i felt like this test should be more about you than me and i wanted to mix up the the grouping just to experiment with different combos and let you guys in good bad or in between hey do you notice that blower makes you walk sideways kinda yeah it's got power it's got a lot of power [Music] [Applause] out of chains and binders northern tool didn't have any changes they'll have one binder and then some chains you don't need or one chain i'm like i want to get it all in one place and keep going you know but and then uh yeah like tractor supply didn't have the binders i needed but maybe the chains if i wanted to have them what's going on i don't know everybody's getting their trailer all their stuff stolen like it's just going to one place she's like calm down i'm like yes you know you spent like eight hours looking for i'm like i know hon i didn't get anywhere did i mild annoyance ah really not how did we get this entire complex done in an hour and a half it wasn't even an hour and a half you guys started at 7 30 he left my house at 7 30. you guys were here about an hour and 15 minutes the two of you it's 27 acres saying what the heck no i mean it is good too it looks like jake's done blowing so yeah jake came in at nine well this one we're like done jake sorry well he thought i was messing with him too oh he thought i was messing with him but this was like there's been one of those spooky kind of in-between stages where maybe not really needed to cut wouldn't have waited until next week it would have been a mess all right well let's go do the church all right [Music] all right you guys tonight we're drinking raspberry lime spin drip but one of you guys told me they have cucumber flavor and i gotta find that we also are having a little guinness cheese this stuff is awesome even call the crow likes it there you go you can take it you can make me into a like oh okay call the crow doesn't like it so i'll give them some turkey there you go you want that oh yeah oh yeah oh oh the turkey's a hit well good i like the cheese it just saves the cheese for me this 60 inch i will tell you as smooth as butter so creamy smooth [Music] and here's sam hopping back on the 36 inch he's got two other mowers he could pick but i think the boy likes that 36 inch mower i mean look at the 88 inches right there now the 8 one thing about the 88 inch it's a rear discharge so it doesn't strike and it's a heavy heavy mower so it's not designed for hills or slopes or wet areas but when you just want to cover ground fast like you have big large lots and you need something that's maneuverable not going to tear up the grass and just cover ground that 88 inch i think is key i think that's going to be king of the king of the castle [Music] you know why sam is on the 36 inch because if he hopped on the 60 inch along with jake on that 88 it would have been mowed so fast that there would have been nothing to really show you guys it would have just been doom ding ding done [Music] all right mowing while it's snowing i never really thought i'd be able to say that in the same sentence but it's coming down it's not heavy but it's coming down i think the boys are at the church that's our last account for this day so i'm gonna go pick up the mowers and put them away we are going to be using them all summer long since i bought them right that makes sense so i want to hear from you guys you want me to do my typical torture tests to any of
