On the floor, assemble the new PVC pipe system. First, dry-fit all pipes and fittings to ensure your measurements are correct and the assembly will fit properly in the ceiling. Once you confirm the fit, begin gluing the pieces together permanently. Apply PVC purple primer to both the outside of the pipe end and the inside of the fitting socket. While the primer is still wet, apply a liberal amount of PVC cement to the same surfaces. Immediately push the pipe into the fitting with a slight twisting motion and hold for 30 seconds to allow the cement to set. Repeat for all connections.
