The hangers (Berger brand shown) are designed to hook into the front lip of the gutter and then screw into the back of the fascia board, directly into the rafter tails for maximum strength. Because the gutter is temporarily lowered, you can easily hook the front of the hanger and bend it into place without hitting the roof shingles. Once all hangers are hooked, reposition the gutter upwards so that its top edge aligns with the chalk line. Use a cordless drill and screws to secure each hanger by driving the screw into the rafter tails through the hanger's designated hole. Space the hangers appropriately, typically every 2-3 feet.
