To ensure the safety of the entire off-grid solar system, it must be properly grounded. A copper ground rod is driven into the earth near the greenhouse. A green ground wire is then connected from the power distribution panel to this ground rod. The video shows using a crimped lug on the ground wire, which is then connected to a grounding terminal on the power distribution panel (likely on the inverter or charge controller housing) and secured with a screw. The other end of the green ground wire is connected to a clamp that secures it tightly to the copper ground rod using a screwdriver. Grounding provides a safe path for stray electrical currents, protecting equipment and personnel from electrical shock.
