Connect the solar system's electrical output to the house's main electrical panel. This involves routing the combined AC power wires from the roof junction box through the wall (usually by drilling a hole in the panel to the outside) to an external solar disconnect switch and a combiner box (if applicable). This external disconnect switch, often a "knife blade switch", allows all power from the solar panels to be safely cut off from the house and the grid, which is a critical safety feature for utility workers. From the disconnect, thick gauge wires are routed back into the main electrical panel, connecting to dedicated breakers (e.g., 20-amp breakers for each string). Remember to connect the ground wire to the grounding bar in the panel. Ensure all connections adhere to local electrical codes and the custom plan set.
