Roll and Secure Floor Covering — Step 5: Secure the Bond – Center Outward
Part of project
fix popping noises from carpet stair treads installed with adhesive on wood stairs · Step 5 of 6
In this video
As soon as the adhesive begins to secure the floor covering (meaning it has started to set enough to prevent significant movement), use a heavy flooring roller. Roll the entire surface of the newly laid floor covering from end to end and then from side to side. This action ensures good overall contact between the floor covering and the adhesive, pressing out any remaining air and firmly seating the material for a strong, lasting bond.
