Using a 220-grit sandpaper and an orbital sander, thoroughly sand all surfaces of the assembled floating shelves. Pay attention to edges and any rough spots to ensure a smooth finish. Once sanded, wipe away any dust. Then, using a cotton rag, apply your chosen wood stain (a dark brown was used in the video) evenly across all wooden surfaces of the shelves.
