Clean Pipe Components
30 minutesThoroughly clean all metal pipe fittings and lengths with a degreaser or solvent to remove any manufacturing oils, dirt, or debris. This step is crucial for ensuring proper adhesion of any finishes and for a clean final appearance. Use a clean cloth to wipe down each component.

Assemble Pipe Frame
60 minutesBegin assembling the pipe components by screwing the fittings and pipe lengths together. Create the vertical supports and the horizontal shelf supports according to your design. Hand-tighten all connections initially, then use a pipe wrench for a final tightening to ensure a sturdy structure. Make sure the frame is square and level.

120 minutesCut the wooden planks to the desired dimensions for your shelves. Once cut, sand all surfaces and edges of the wood smooth, starting with a coarser grit sandpaper and progressing to a finer grit for a polished finish. Apply your chosen wood stain or sealant according to the product's instructions, allowing adequate drying time between coats.

45 minutesPosition the finished wood shelves onto the corresponding horizontal pipe supports. Use pipe clamps or wood screws to firmly attach the shelves to the pipes. Ensure the shelves are level and evenly spaced. If using screws, pre-drill pilot holes into the wood to prevent splitting.

60 minutesDetermine the final placement of the shelf on the wall. Use a stud finder to locate wall studs for maximum support. Hold the shelf against the wall, mark the mounting points for the vertical pipe supports. Drill pilot holes into the wall studs and use appropriate wall anchors and screws to securely fasten the shelf to the wall. Ensure the shelf is level and firmly attached.
