First, use a small, pointed tool (like a pick or flat-head screwdriver) to carefully pry off the decorative cap from the top of the faucet handle. Once the cap is removed, locate the retaining screw inside. Use an appropriate screwdriver (often Phillips head) to loosen and remove this screw. With the screw removed, pull the faucet handle straight up and off the stem.
