Step 5 · Address Persistent Squeak

If the squeak is still present after initial lubrication, you may need to remove the hinge pin completely. With the door slightly ajar, use a hammer and nail set or screwdriver to tap the pin upwards from the bottom until it can be pulled out. Clean the pin thoroughly with a degreaser or steel wool to remove any rust or grime. Lubricate the pin and the inside of the hinge barrels generously, then reinsert the pin and test the door again.
