Step 2 · Remove Old Faucet Handles & Trim

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Carefully remove the handles and escutcheons from both the shower and tub faucets. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws; penetrating oil may be necessary for stubborn, corroded screws. Gently pry off any decorative caps before unscrewing.
