Step 3 · Get Your Paint and Gear in Order

Open up your can of latex paint and give it a really good stir with a stir stick. You want to make sure all the solids are mixed in perfectly for consistent color and sheen. Pour about half a tray's worth of paint. Go ahead and load your roller, working it back and forth in the tray so it's evenly saturated but not a drippy mess. Keep your cut-in brush handy.
