Step 6 · Clean or Replace Ice Maker Components

If the ice maker has mineral deposits or is dirty, clean the mold and surrounding areas with a mild detergent and water, then rinse thoroughly. If the water inlet valve, motor, thermostat, or other components were found to be faulty in previous steps, replace them with new parts that are compatible with your refrigerator model. Ensure all connections are secure after replacement.
