Step 1 · Disconnect Power and Water

Before beginning any work, locate the circuit breaker that controls the ice maker and turn it off. Then, turn off the water supply valve connected to the ice maker. This is typically found behind the refrigerator or under the sink. Open a faucet nearby to relieve any pressure in the water line.
