Step 2 · Remove the Old Shower Handle Screw(s)

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Next, locate the screw(s) holding your shower handle in place. These are often concealed under a decorative cap. Carefully pry off the cap using a small flathead screwdriver. Then, use a screwdriver (or drill with a suitable bit) to remove the screw(s).
