Step 1 · Turn Off the Shower's Water Supply

Before you begin, safety first! Turn off the water supply to your shower. Locate the shut-off valves—usually behind an access panel, near the water heater, or under the sink. Turn the valves clockwise until they stop. If you can't find individual valves, you may need to shut off the main water supply to your house.
