Step 2 · Heating Element Test: Diagnosing the Problem

This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.

Use a multimeter to test the heating element(s). Set the multimeter to ohms. Touch one lead to each terminal of the element. Readings between 10 and 30 ohms (often 12, 16, or 18) indicate a good element. An 'OL' (open line) reading means it's faulty and needs replacement.
