Step 3 · Insert the Drain Snake

Insert the tip of the drain snake cable into the exposed drainpipe opening. Push the cable slowly and steadily into the pipe. If you encounter a P-trap, you may need to angle the snake or remove the trap first. Continue feeding the cable until you meet the obstruction.
