Step 3 · Remove the Valve Stems

This is the step most people slow down on. Take it one move at a time — there’s no rush, and you can rewind the clip as many times as you need.

Use a deep socket or adjustable wrench to carefully remove the escutcheon plate and valve stems, exposing the faucet body. Inspect the O-rings on the stems for wear or damage; replacement may be necessary.
