Water Supply Valve For Toilet Will Not Close...SO HAPPY THIS WORKED!!

What happens here

Take the new quarter-turn ball valve and ensure it operates smoothly. Before installation, apply a small amount of pipe thread sealant, such as MegaLock, around the brass ferrule (compression ring) and its seating surfaces inside the valve. This helps create a watertight seal. Place the ferrule and nut onto the valve, then carefully screw the new valve onto the copper pipe stub. Hand-tighten as much as possible, then use a 1/2-inch deep socket wrench or a ratcheting box-end wrench to tighten the compression nut. It's crucial not to overtighten, usually about one to one and a quarter turns past hand-tight, to avoid damaging the valve or pipe.

Goal: Prepare the new quarter-turn ball valve by checking its operation and applying thread sealant, then securely install it onto the cleaned copper pipe stub.
