After all the wallpaper appears to be removed, it's crucial to go back and meticulously check for any small pieces of paper or glue residue left behind. Any remaining paper will curl up and become visible once the wall is painted or textured, leading to an undesirable finish. Scrape off all traces of paper and adhesive. Keep trash bags handy throughout the process to immediately collect and dispose of the removed wallpaper, preventing a larger mess and making cleanup easier. Once you are confident that all wallpaper and significant glue residue have been removed, the wall must be primed. Priming is essential to seal any lingering adhesive residues and prevent them from bleeding through your new paint or texture, which could cause discoloration or uneven finishes.
