How To Cut Drywall or Sheetrock With A Knife | Cutting Sheet Rock HACKS

to show you real quickly here how we cut the drywall. We're installing the drywall on this wall here. And to cut a piece of drywall, it's pretty simple. All you got to do is have a pencil to be able to mark where your cut is. A straight edge to make a straight line. And then a knife. And I've got an X-acto knife right here. Your retracting blade. And all you got to do, got my pencil, straight edge line right here. And I'm just going to take and score my drywall. And all I got to do is just a little bit of pressure just to cut through that first layer of paper on the drywall. Just take your time. Go slow just to get a nice good straight score. And you're going to be wanting to cut the front side of the drywall. There's a back side. The dark side is what's going to be installed against the wall. The light side is the outer side of the drywall. So, you're going to be drawing your line on the lighter side, scoring the lighter side first. Then, you're just going to take that piece of drywall, move it around, and I'm going to hold both sides. And I'm going to take my knee and just put some pressure where that score was. And so, I'm going to just take and hold it. And it's just going to snap the gemstone inside. Now, just going to take and cut the paper. on the back side. [Music]
