Toilet Paper Holder Keeps Falling Off!

hey folks that fix it guy here and today we're going to be looking at a toilet paper holder this thing actually won't stay on right here it's got a set screw that keeps coming loose like every time they go and pull toilet paper off of this it turns out that it actually comes loose and eventually just falls off so today i'm going to show you how to put this on and keep it on so come along let's get to fixing [Music] [Applause] okay so this is the culprit right here this particular toilet paper holder has got a couple of set screws you can see one right there and you can see the one right here that holds it on well if you flip this out right here that set screw is supposed to sit right in there it allows this to swing and then is not supposed to allow it to come off but it keeps coming loose so i'm going to show you my fix for this today all right we're looking at thread locker this is by loctite and this is blue 242 all right this stuff is removable make sure you get removable you want to be able to take this apart right this is pretty much the only thing i use in my house we we've got some other stuff at work that we use to make sure things will never come off but this right here is the only thing i use in a home situation this will totally hook you up and it's going to fix this up today so let's just go ahead we'll pop this out of the package kind of get ourselves set up here i'll put a link in the description box below if you guys need any of this stuff it's great um i'm not really using too many tools today either right i just have my leatherman um it probably has the smallest little screwdriver that i own other side other than like my wife's um glasses repair screwdriver which i left at home tend to not really take that out of the house i don't want to get yelled at all right so you're going to have to cut the tip of this off so it's a good thing we have a knife as well so then i'll show you so then we're just going to take this we're going to pop these screws out we're going to put a little bit of this loctite on them and we're going to put it back together this is my old trusty leatherman charge right remember that accessory kit i bought a little while back man it has so many different screwdrivers and stuff in it so the one we're going to be using today because those are little tiny screws we need a little tiny screwdriver for it see that's already got a flat tip on it but that's way too big so we're just able to hook this up right there careful not to lose those little things they're tiny buggers man little thumbnail action i just don't want to lose that set that up on the counter so then we'll just get up on this box right here you don't want to cut the countertop and just snip the end of this off oh don't squeeze you squeeze this stuff it comes out man you certainly don't need a lot of this either all right let's grab a little toilet paper just to be on the safe side we are working on the toilet paper holder so it is make sure you get that stuff off your knife you don't want that sticking around okay well somebody was talking uh kind of got me interrupted there so let's just go ahead and we'll just put a little more dab of that on there probably didn't need to but it's all right this one little container of this loctite is going to last you a really long time so you just want to dip the end of that screw in there right just get a little bit on there this one right here is gonna go right in there so we'll get that started a little bit and then set that right there i'm gonna go ahead and do the exact same thing on the next one it's gonna be a pretty quick fix and so now that's good to go in there and now we got to do is put this in place and tighten it up okay so first we'll just put it on the cabinet and then we'll just tighten the other piece up okay so this right here we're actually going to put it on the downside we don't want to see that up here right so you just put that right there [Music] get that right there and then we'll just try to tighten up that little set screw that is definitely tricky man but it's going let's do this let's pop this bad boy off and we'll see if we can just use this right here okay so that's on there nice and snug that ain't moving once that loctite sets up that's gonna be good to go so then we take this bad boy that's in there all right and so now you're able to take that slap a roll of toilet paper on there and you're good to go man that ain't gonna come off like that's to be good once these screws set up it's going to be good loctite man you need something to stay put this stuff will work and then it's also removable make sure you buy the removable all right so one more thing is look at this leatherman you see that that is a twist in the old screwdriver not cool man kind of a bummer okay so we've got this toilet paper holder hooked up that loctite it sets up in about 10 minutes and it cures totally in about 24 hours this stuff is awesome just make sure you get the removable i can promise you you do not want the other this stuff will come off with a little bit of force but hopefully it's not going to come off the way that it was before i really
