With the target fully assembled and standing, the creator takes a can of Zinsser Bulls Eye Shellac spray and applies several even coats to the entire end-grain wooden block target face. This protective coating serves to seal the wood, providing weather resistance and helping to prevent moisture absorption and splintering, which can extend the lifespan of the target face. He ensures adequate drying time between coats for optimal protection.
