What happens here
The creator starts by arranging numerous small, uniformly cut wooden blocks (presumably 4x4 or 6x6 lumber cut into short sections) on a flat, concrete surface. He applies wood glue liberally to the sides of each block before pressing them together. This process is repeated to form a large, solid rectangular slab, ensuring the end grain of the wood faces outwards for optimal axe penetration and target longevity. A small tool is used to spread the glue evenly between block surfaces.
Goal: Create the main impact surface of the axe target.
Tools and materials
- Glue Spreader — To ensure even distribution of wood glue between blocks
- Small Wooden Blocks — The core material for the axe target's impact face, arranged with end grain outward
- Wood Glue — To bond the wooden blocks together into a solid slab
