This was just NASTY! Something NEW is Hatching on the Farm today!
What happens here
Before the chicks are moved into the brooder, the mobile coop needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Remove all existing manure using a shovel and rake. To minimize dust during cleaning, lightly wet down the manure with a water hose. Spread the cleaned manure on garden beds or sparse lawn areas, ensuring not to pile it up too thickly, as its high nitrogen content can 'roast' plants. Wear a 3M N95 mask and safety glasses to protect yourself from dust and debris during cleaning.
Goal: Prepare a clean and safe environment for newly hatched chicks.
