This Should Work! Foxes keep Killing my Chickens!

What happens here

Connect the electric netting to an existing structure like a chicken coop by tying off the non-electrified ropes at the end of the netting to the structure. Ensure that no electrified strands (the ones with metal filaments) are touching the coop or any other grounded objects. If there's a gap between the ground and the lowest live wire, a predator might try to crawl under. Use the provided fence tester to check the voltage on the live wires. The tester will flash, indicating a successful connection and sufficient voltage. If grass grows too high and touches the electrified wires, it can cause the fence to 'pop' or lose charge. Trim the grass as needed, or adjust the fence height to prevent grounding out.

Goal: Integrate the netting with an existing structure and confirm power delivery.

Tools and materials

  • Electric Netting Starkline — To connect to the existing structure
  • Existing Chicken Coop — To act as part of the poultry enclosure
  • Fence Tester Starkline — To verify power is flowing through the fence
  • Twine or Zip Ties — To tie the non-electrified end ropes of the netting to the existing chicken coop
