hey siri what's the tempo one sec okay see it's one degree outside oh it's nicer out it's negative yesterday yeah it's way nicer than it was yesterday all right well let's see if she'll let's see i'll lean all the kitty cat on but it's not hey alex will you um hook up to the big trailer what's that will you hook up the big trailer and we're not gonna use the sure track for now because we're having a problem with the door no it's not the trailer's fault it's my fault we had an incident with the bumper and the box so the reason we're hooking up the sure track alex because i don't want to put any more stress on the hinge of that uh i mean the the texas pride over the sure track i just don't want to hook up put any stress on it but i think we need some block zach we put some blocks behind this thing because she might go for a spin all right i think i'm gonna slowly take the spin around don't try to climb the hill we're just gonna leave it in the road just leave it in the road don't bother going up i don't think it would fit up there no it won't fit not till we get that all fixed up so we'll just park it down at the bottom and i'll see you over there all right you guys i want to take just a moment to explain kind of a little bit of a backstory to help some of you guys get caught up especially some long time viewers of the channel if you're new to the channel we usually dive right into action and have a lot of fun but some of my longer time viewers they try to piece together the pieces of the puzzle and i realize i never really gave it all to them so we are up in northern minnesota and this is an area that we my family has lived in our entire life we have a 160 acre parcel of land mostly woods if you look on the left that's the farm and that is literally where i screw up a portion of my time my father was a crop duster and what that meant was we chased the crops in the summertime we would go to southern minnesota 200 miles away from here and we would work from march till usually october plain and as a kid i was god woke up every morning at 4 am and just helped him go to work and our days would end at 10 because the sun would go down at 9 30 at night and by 10 you'd have the plane in you'd have it all put away and then the next morning you'd get up at four o'clock because the sun would start to come up by about five five fifteen and you needed to be in the air as soon as the sun came up because the calmest portions of the day wind-wise are early morning and late at night so it meant a lot of long hours this was our family property though so in the winter when we weren't crop dusting we would come up here and this is the farm right there that i would live in but we weren't rich we were dirt floor poor and what dirt floor four means is we literally had a dirt floor so what my dad and i had was a camper trailer and the furnace couldn't keep up in minnesota winners so he built a shack made out of osb board on the side of the camper trailer and then he took two 55-gallon drums stacked them on top of each other and we used that as a furnace of course the shack portion of it didn't have an actual concrete floor but you know if you never had a concrete floor you don't know what you're missing our garage has never had concrete floors nothing ever had a concrete floor because we couldn't afford it so that's what i call dirt floor pour which doesn't make me worse it actually makes me better because i learned to appreciate things that most people took for granted if there's something that most people would be like oh you need a pole bar i never had one so i don't feel like i need one and it's like i don't need a pole barn i grew up here working year-round we never had a pole barn do we really need one well yeah i mean most people are gonna say you do need one and this property that we're going to actually has one so i own my first poll bar [Music] all right guys we're back at the cabin but and we're gonna tear it down today but there's a set of tracks coming in here that aren't mine so somebody's been came to visit while i was gone let's see if uh see if they left anything people have been using this as a dump site so let's go up here and see what if anything has changed or maybe somebody was just coming to say hi who knows maybe maybe looks like they got themselves a little stuck trying to get up on this high quality driveway bobsled run yeah you can see right here right where they backed up i don't know what this dlio is looks like there used to be a rabbit there stepped out came right through here step step step step step i see a lot of work all right looks like they came around here we're gonna clean all this up today we're gonna see what we can do with this building over here i don't know what we're going to be able to do without a grapple that's working right but we'll do what we can let's go received by some miracle these freaking things will actually work right now part of the problem we're having is the grapple that you see hooked on right now it won't it's just leaking like a sieve we get it to go up stay up hopefully we can be in business we gotta do the door count today guys how many times what's the highest it takes to close the door we're gonna have a little bit of fun at the end of today's video we've got an entire list of shout outs it's gonna be fun and then the drink of the day today is coca-cola with coffee the dark blend this is phenomenal it is so good i don't drink it very often but i'm giving myself a treat because i'm hanging out with you guys see this clam bucket or this rock bucket's supposed to actually work and that just it leaks and so when i go to use the gravel i can't get it to close and i can't get any pressure on it technically i should just be able to grab that garbage and not have anything spill out but with the grapples open it makes it a whole different challenge so well this will work get about a third of the efficiency of that thing would work and be like why are you just tightening up the fittings we have tightened up those fittings so many times we've replaced hoses on it so at some point just give up make do with what you got so let's switch let's switch it up looks like i'm going to be we'll get as much carried down as we can and what we leave on the road behind us we'll just come back and pick up by hand but let's move the dump trailer just across the road so we're just going to move this over here so i can just come up don't come up [Music] so what i was saying is i was watching this property just sit abandoned across from me and i was trying to get everybody i knew to buy it because i mean hey this was a nice piece of land and i just hated to see it go to waste finally i just said oh the heck with it i you know property values keep going up this guy won't budge the house is falling apart and it's getting worse and worse people are just tearing this property apart and the guy just i gave him what he wanted [Music] jokingly i said to my my grandson i'm like we call this shangri-la and he's like well what are we gonna call it across the lake and i says we'll call it shangri-la douche and i meant to say deuce like two and he looks at him and he goes shangri-la douche and i'm like oh i meant deuce but that was it from then on he always calls it shangri-la douche so this property is now shangri-la douche [Music] you know i'm doing this to clean up the site not to make it worse so i don't think we're going to get to that building today without a different bucket and a different plan but if i can still get the debris outside of the place cleaned up and sorted up so it's not blowing all over man that's going to be a bonus in my book any day so let's just concentrate our efforts on that and see what we can do i have a feeling i'm going to be doing a lot of this because it's all going to be done with this regular dirt bucket at this point that rock bucket is leaking oil all over and uh the clamps the arms slowly go down and every time every scoop i pick up instead of being able to grab it because that rock bucket the idea is you grab you scoop and you grab and you compress it and it's not going to go anywhere once that garbage is unfirmly under your like it's just like holding it tight in your fist but now if your fist is wide open and your bouncing like this it's all gonna do what you just seen here so we're just gonna take your time see what we can get done you like my new shades just found them do they stay or go there's got to be a better plan i'm not really sure this skid loader is going to be the right tool to tear that cabin apart and then i had an idea and i wanted to shoot this idea past you i thought how cool would it be if i got a forestry and we took it through the woods and we tested it out in the woods and just kind of got familiar with it and seen what it could and couldn't do and maybe we try to mulch up my cabin what do you guys think i wanna try to mulch up my cabin yes i do cause that would be fun all right guys every now and then you may notice that i'm actually backing down the hill spinning and then driving up the hill and that's if i've got a big heavy load not heavy but just a big load that's out of balance i'm using gravity and i'm trying to keep the load in the bucket and balanced on the arms of the machine the kitty cat doesn't have a lot of aggressive curl back on the bucket other machines the bucket will curl real aggressive back up into the machine creating a really cool v that helps you capture material unfortunately the kitty cat is a little flatter than other buckets but i got a steep hill that'll work in my advantage there then it flattens out and then i got a little bit of a hill right here and i'm just going to use mother nature's gifts that she's given me to try to get this job done let's keep going cats make great machines with really bad doors two four six seven eight nine ten i think i need a new door eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifth fifteen that's that's gotta be the record that's got to be the record it's gotta be i gotta change this driveway this is a terrible driveway and part of why i bought it because i wanna just have fun it gives me an excuse to get a dozer out there i gotta build the driveway let's get a dozer i gotta do this let's get an excavator i can play with so many toys on this land and just have so much fun with you guys figuring out what we're gonna do now i call this driveway the bobsled run and what i'd like to do with this is build an s-curve i did it for another couple where they had a driveway and it literally went straight down and their garage was at the bottom like in minnesota bobsled runs don't work well long term so you got two options one you can heat the driveway or and i say you got two options because if you you can't heat your driveway i don't recommend salting it or just saying that you're gonna do that because you never inevitably always catch it you may be at work it may snow like crazy and now you're coming home to a driveway filled with snow and ice or something else and you don't need a lot to create an ice like a dusting that just hits at the wrong time and then the sun melts it and then re-freezes it because the ground is frozen can create hidden nice slicks and so what we did on that other one was we created a cool s-curve with a switchback over the same area just by doing stuff like that it's just fun to try and i love trying new things on my own land and not on somebody else's because not everything i try works out i'm going to tell you right now man i learn by doing and so i'll always experiment first on myself and then i take what i learned and bring it to other people and so i want to do some crazy stuff here it may not all make sense but i i'm excited about just having this as a playground and having you guys tell me what to do like one of you guys told me don't tear down the whole cabin because there was one room that was still okay in it and i'm gonna try to do that i'm gonna try to mulch if you guys think that's a cool idea the entire cabin except for that one room and leave it standing and i'm gonna save that whole barn i got a full barn oh my grandson of love ah it's got mold on it mold dang it my grandson would have loved that but my daughter would be like that's that mold on it yeah but mold also makes penicillin right you guys want to hear the ford hum we've been getting hit by thieves so here's our temporary catalytic converter brink there's a real catalytic converter but this one works for now so let's take this load and dump it come back for more that dirt bucket is working not bad and i guess i'm just used to a dirt pocket so anyway let's go dump a load that's not something one guy normally says to [Music] another i've got to bring in four 40 yard dumpsters there's a mobile home behind me you see in the background and i'm gonna go through that that's on our land and i'm gonna go through that and i'm gonna haul that away and sort through everything so when i bring in the dumpsters i'm gonna throw all this stuff in the dumpsters the dump trailer kind of sounds a bit angry i don't think it likes the cold [Music] so this load i would have ideally liked to gotten closer to that mobile home but i'm going to show you at the end of the video frankie's actually got his main scrap pile over there and we're going to actually be taking some scrap and adding into that scrap pile but that means it's pretty tight over there so i'm going to drop this stuff here then stack it up cover it up and then bring in the dumpsters and load it up all right you guys you're gonna do a ride along with me while we go get some material two three four five six there we go that wasn't bad seventh time is the charm right six so this is our safety switch kitty cat's got cup holders down here great for also holding your gloves lots of good heaters only problem i don't the only thing i don't like about the cat otherwise what a phenomenally smooth machine and that's the same for the asb oh good machines because i know some of you guys are like what do you like better the cat or the asb the controls on this cat are smooth i mean buttery smooth it just this whole bucket feels like it's an extension of your body right i mean you can just i just i don't know how else to put it it's not like you're driving a machine it's just like you're part of it looks like we got a window screen that doesn't want to cooperate man this is it's just weird up here when the temps get this cold the snow gets really slick you know snow usually has a certain amount of traction but really cold snow doesn't i don't know maybe it's just me i don't know i'm not saying that's an actual fact or not just saying it's slick and it's cold and i just kind of see that pattern it's always fun cleaning up somebody else's garbage right just thinking the other day or the other day this morning i seem to get myself into this situation where i'm cleaning up a lot of other people's stuff [Music] so what i was saying is the dif there is a difference between the cat and the asv the cat controls are very smooth and i'm not saying the asb controls aren't smooth the asv sticks better than the cat and what i mean is like if i'm on a severe hill or a slope i want to be in the asv it's it just it's planted [Music] if i want to finesse things the cat is better for finessing i don't know man when you raise your bucket up high enough i got the bucket curled all the way back but she's still pretty flat but by raising it up you kind of take advantage of the amount of curl you have i guess one of the neighbors stopped by and was asking alex a bunch of questions what are you guys doing over here i think i'm gonna try to get that window frame this time yeah we'll leave that for another load so we got something for geely in the bucket right now so we better put that in the dumpster nice and easy i'm full of dad jokes i mean hey four kids two grandkids i got dad jokes galore if you love dad jokes you're at the right place whoa holy buckets little the icy was taking me for a ride there for a moment guys i was pulling bass backwards and she was going fast forward dad joke definite dad joke see got tons of them i could tell dad jokes all day all right let's see if we grab that window frame this time there's no window in it it's just a frame at this point see if we can't crunch the satisfying crunch of a window frame getting destroyed but that's a total dad thing to say [Music] i just want to get too much snow all right you guys next thing we're trying to do is get over there to get some of that cleaned out i think what we're going to do is just plow out a spot that we can get up in here i know there's some buried debris in here so i don't know how deep i want to go but so i was uh walked into this contractor's office but back when i was doing all commercial work had a meeting with him and he had one thing in his office just this plain old office and it had one sign and it said how do you eat an elephant and then in small words it said one bite at a time and i'm like he had no pictures nothing that was the only thing and this was a guy that sole responsibility was to build multi-million dollar structures and i realized that his key to doing that was to break everything down into its smallest components that made it palatable to him something that was doable and then he just kept going building up building upon that to be able to accomplish great things it was one of those weird aha moments [Music] so i know you guys that operate equipment know this but not everybody that watches my channel operates equipment so they don't know this but there is something kind of cool about dirt buckets they have a lip on the inside and that lip right here on the inside lets you hook stuff like this leverage it and then you got a big platform you can work off not necessarily the most stable thing but in a pinch it works let's load up some stuff and then let's see if we can get it down to the bottom of the hill in one piece all right guys so here's what we're gonna do we're gonna load up this stuff we're gonna break this video into a two-parter and in just a few minutes we're gonna open this box i know it's been sitting behind me driving me crazy but this box is something for the wall so it should be fun and then we'll um go over what we're gonna see in the next video but let's just see if we can actually get this load down the hill [Music] all right guys well that looks like a pretty sketchy load let's see if we can get it down to the bottom of the hill without it spilling take your guess i don't know i don't know we'll find out i'm gonna put you guys up on top there and we're not gonna cut it we're gonna go all the way down and see how much we lose the time we get to the bottom so let's go for a ride how many times do you think it's going to take me to close this door i think we're gonna cheat and go backwards so i'm using that little lip that curl in the bucket to help it's kind of like the same thing if i had an actual clam bucket that would clam but it's using the gravity to do it i thought i was going to go bass afterwards but then i decided to go for it and what i'm doing is as i'm going as the hills going down i start to raise my bucket up because as you raise it up it helps tip it back so if i feel like i'm going to lose my load going forward i just raise the whole bucket up because it goes like that i have a little bit of dyslexia so i actually see the words in my head and sometimes i don't see them when i say them right that's the truth my uncle is full dyslexic my son is because i don't think dyslexia has a disability i think it's a superpower man let me explain why all right um and we're actually before i get into that i mean because i think it's important to know this we're gonna pause this video here and we're gonna pick this up on the next one what i was saying about dyslexia is i firmly believe…
