The History of NASCAR's Iconic 2000s Sounds

What happens here

Boyd explains that due to NASCAR's demands, he and his team prioritized making their clients' systems first, ensuring top teams like Hendrick Motorsports received their custom exhaust solutions promptly. He mentions having a MATLAB program linked with SolidWorks that could calculate and design exhaust pipes based on specific parameters, allowing him to optimize pipe geometry for any V8 engine.

Goal: Showcase Dr. Gas's advanced design capabilities and customer service.

neighborhood newspaper little just a you know >> [clears throat] >> kind of a little thing for the neighbors in in the area here. And we put in there my wife used to used to publish it and she wrote in there congratulations to Dr. Gass, Boyd Butler and Dr. Gass just won the '95 Daytona 500. Of course, there's not one person here who even cares or even knows about NASCAR. So, we did that anyway. But anyway, so I I found a building just down the down here past the freeway. It's going to take us a few minutes to get there. But even though I was paying rent, I hired uh probably another eight employees and I bought um two mandrel benders and tooling and um and a CNC mill. Torque wrenches just exploded while I was while I was down here. And it Back to the neighbors, it was it was okay. But they but they turned me in. In fact, it was probably uh really good that they did. >> What do they say you're not allowed to operate a a manufacturing company in your backyard? Like what >> Oh, yeah. >> What was the problem? >> Oh, that's That's That's fun. When you get You get the visit from the code enforcement officer, who is actually a cop. And he comes and he says, "Are you uh doing this here?" And I'm like, "Uh yes, sir." And then he goes, "Is that your car?" "No." "Is that your car?" "No." "Well, whose cars are they?" "They're my employees' cars." "So, do you have a business license here?" "Uh well, no." I said, "Do you think I could get one?" And he goes, "No." So, so he moved down here to a rental shop. And I had to to move the equipment I had, I had to hire a an equipment rigger who has a great big flatbed. They they move machinery of all kinds, you know, they have all these nifty things that would roll machines and stuff off roll around on concrete. Out of that place, I only had single phase power. And we moved to the new facility, we had three phase. So, great thing there. All my mandrel benders and most of my equipment, my my CNC mill was uh uh used three phase. And with three phase power, you could uh almost have unlimited horsepower. Oh, the one mandrel bender had a 20 horsepower motor on it. You know, it just just it ran the hydraulic power unit. Cuz that that that takes some some energy to do to do that. So, again, that was all just like it was like like perfectly timed. I was like I don't regret moving a bit. At the time, I was a little unhappy. >> Do you think you could have grown faster if you moved sooner? Or is…
