What happens here

The first "we moved" video got TONS of comments about the Rolls Royce Phantom sitting in the abandoned shop. Well today it is GONE. I traded it on a crazy 2 for 1 Facebook Marketplace deal for a 1992 HMMWV "Humvee" with a clear title for street legal use.. AND a 2013 John Deere skidsteer with a couple attachments! I bought the Rolls in 2021 after it was totaled in a flood by the previous owner. I had planned to build it and use it for drag week type events but after we moved to NC in 2021 everything changed and the Phantom sat collecting dust for 4 years. Do we need a military humvee? Absolutely not... but it is awesome to have around! The skidsteer is something we definitely need around here and I am super excited to use it for clearing out the property! Slowly I am becoming a diesel guy. I really enjoy the sounds of the Detroit diesel 6.5 in the Hummer, even if it is super slow it will be great for trails through the woods!

Buying this car was the most YouTuber thing I've ever done until today. Now, trading this Rolls-Royce for what I'm about to trade it for is the most YouTuber thing I have ever done. >> That's really cool. >> You know, this is one of those things that you really want when you're a kid, but you never really think you're going to have one. When my uncle asked me what I wanted for my first car, I said that I wanted a Hummer with bulletproof windows. >> Well, this doesn't have any windows, but we're getting closer. >> I'll go ahead and start getting unloaded. >> Yeah. You want to see the the car? >> Yeah, let's do that. >> I figured you might want to make sure you don't walk in like, "No, I'm going home." >> 5 years ago, I bought this flooded Rolls-Royce Phantom. And shortly after that, everything changed. My original intention with this was to make it similar to what my Escalade was and use it for drag racing. You know, things change, we grow. We no longer do that. One day I was just I was feeling a little saucy and I was like, you know what? I'm just going to put this thing on Facebook Marketplace for what I have in it and see what happens. And you know, I got a ton of stupid messages. A ton. It almost made me delete it. And then I had this guy message me. He said, "Are you interested in trades?" And I say, "I don't know, maybe." Even though I'm like, "No." But you know, I always got an open mind. He said, "I have two street legal Humvees." Sent me pictures and they looked really nice. And I thought, well, I don't even need one street legal Humvey, let alone two, but maybe it would be easier to sell one of these for a skid steer and I could have some fun with the other one for a little bit and then sell or trade that and at least it would be something that isn't this. I told him that. I said, "Well, I don't really need two Humvees. I don't even need one. I'd probably sell one for a skid steer, but maybe if the values work out correctly, I might want to do it." And he said, "Oh, I have a skid steer. We could do that instead. My god, are you serious? That is just way too convenient. And this was like 4 months ago. It took a long time for this to all uh facilitate just for both of our schedules and all that. But long story short, I am trading this Rolls-Royce Phantom for a skid steer and a military Humvey. God, I feel like such a such a cliche YouTube dude bro right now. I don't even know what to say, but that's just it is what it is. >> Yeah. [laughter] You got to make it fit. >> Oh, wow. This thing's huge. >> That's usually what everybody says. >> I mean, that's what it's one of my favorites. So, >> it it looks like you would think it'd be like a little bit bigger than a normal sedan, but then you see it and you're like, "Wow, this is like makes every other car look like it's 7/8 scale." >> It really >> It's enormous. It's got a 141in wheelbase and a Suburban is 130. >> Yeah. So, that's what I was going to say. I was started looking at them trying to see how long it really is cuz I said, you know, it would be cool if it's bigger than I think it is and not small like the ghost or something like that. >> Yeah. >> Smaller. >> No, you can open it. >> Oo, it smells like it's got some water. >> Yeah. We never like washed it out or rinsed it or anything. We just took the stuff out and let it dry out. And it took us a week to get it deconstructed to this point. I remember even driving around when it was normal. It would do weird stuff. >> The what? The way it ran. >> It would just have like weird electrical quirks. Like you would stop at a stop sign and then pull forward and something in the doors would go like click click click and then it would go ding. And then this like service icon would come up on the car and the lift and then it would go away, >> right? >> Never knew what it was for. He never tried to figure it out. [laughter] And then that little shed out there has all the interior pieces in it that aren't currently in the car. Since this is a two for one trade today, he's bringing the Humvey down and then he's going to have to come back with the skid steer and then take the rolls with him. >> Where' the passenger seat go? I >> I got it in the back of my truck. >> Okay. I was hoping it didn't fly off on the way here. >> No, no. Well, that's why I took this off because it has these two small latches here and it does, you know, stay, but I was just afraid if it's vibrating or something like that. I started putting some plastic plugs in anywhere there was holes that weren't used. You know what I mean? They're just the ones you can push it. Wow. >> Yeah, that helps. >> Just for looks, you know what I mean? >> Yeah. I'd like to know what did you do this bed liner? The grid? >> I didn't. The guy that had it before me, he did the Rhino liner in in the interior and the exterior here. >> Okay. >> So, and it looks super clean and almost new. It does. >> And it even better if you just pressure wash it once and wash it. >> Really? >> Yeah. That's it. I mean it and it'll >> take the abuse. It won't peel off. It won't >> When was the last time you washed it? >> Probably six months ago. >> Oh, well then this is great. Yeah. God, this thing has crazy ground clearance. feels over like it's huge. They're really fun, dude. You'll have >> That's really cool. >> The battery just touched. >> Oh, >> well, it made a big spark. >> I saw the the battery must have slid and touched the side. But I have a little >> Yeah, it moved like up. I'm going to shut this off. >> Yeah, we can we can pack foam in there. >> Yeah, it's like a race car. >> Oh, >> yeah. See, >> cuz this Okay, so these are wired. This is 24vt system. >> The whole thing. >> The whole thing. But >> the alternator that or the generator that I have on this one is both the 24 and the 12vt. You there's another spot on there you can come off with a 12volt system. >> Okay. So that this whole system that I put in >> it is a 24volt system, but I was going to add an entirely different one if I was going to put on some 12volt accessories and stuff. >> Then you could charge your phone or have like a radio in here. >> You [laughter] can the guy that had it before, he had a box right here. It was like a a safe >> because like I said, he was going to use them for people to rent on the beach. >> Oh, that's cool. And so what he did was he put like a it was like a gun safe with a lock on it and he just tapped one of these batteries and had a couple chargers and stuff like that for phones and things like that. >> Interesting. >> GPS. This thing is enormous. Has the turning radius of a small ship. >> Yep. >> That's funny. >> This isn't even >> This is much much cleaner before it sat under the tree. But >> look at those little better primaries are so tiny. But this your, you know, you can tap the 12 volts off this here. And these things, if you do swap out the engine, don't let this go cheap. I mean, this is easy. $2,500. >> Really? >> Yes. >> Absolutely. I put the Canon air filter on. I have the original filter and everything. So, if you want to put a stack back on it and take it underwater, you can. >> What are those just heat vents? It doesn't have AC. >> Yeah. No AC. So, yeah, heat vents are over here. The fans over there, you could turn it on. That all works. >> Yeah. I thought that's the hood would be metal. >> No, you wouldn't. So, none of this is metal. This is an aluminum can. >> Really? >> This tub is all aluminum. Oh, yeah. I mean, when people look at these things and they just look at it and think it's bulletproof. Absolutely not. I mean, it takes a lot of the bulletproof kit to put on there, which weighs a ton and nobody wants it. >> Interesting. >> Date of delivery. October 1992. >> Yep. >> That's cool. You can probably >> Oh, yeah. It's kind of this is really badass and all, but there's some part of me that sits in here and can't help but think about all the young men who have this same or very similar view and that was the last thing they ever saw. What are you looking at, punk? You know, we had to go buy this shed just to put all this stuff in. I wasn't even thinking about the added benefit of this is now we will have a shed. >> You'll have an actual >> to put stuff in other stuff. Yeah. outside of just storing car parts. >> Yeah. I'm going to actually want to move it around now and put it somewhere. It makes more sense. Probably pick this up. >> Yeah. Yeah. You want to dig that out? See what this mystery piece is here. It looks like it could be an old Ford truck mirror. >> I think that's exactly what it is. Oh, there's a screw right here. >> See, there I think we were exactly right. That's hilarious. >> No way. Yep. >> Are you pumped? pumped. >> Is your kid pumped? >> Oh, yeah. >> That's good. That's what it's all about. >> Yeah. >> I was once the pumped kid every time I saw that car. So, yeah, >> we'll pass the baton. >> Are you pumped? >> Yeah. Yeah. We were just looking around like the new big toy. >> Look at all this junk we've been waiting to do something with until we had one of these. >> Yeah. >> Cuz why would you spend uh 3 days doing it manually when you could do it in 10 minutes with this? >> Absolutely. I'm going to start getting it unloaded. >> Did that upper piece fall down? >> Screw. So, I No, it didn't fall down. I it it's down. I got to put the screws back in. So, I didn't get a chance to put the headliner back on. I had that with me and I didn't put the the other pieces back on yet. >> Did somebody want to give it a rattle can paint job and gave up halfway through? >> Yeah, that was my guys. >> Really? >> They were supposed to be sanding down the whole thing. I see the stickers are still there. >> Oh, I did find a whole new label set that apparently bought for. Yeah. So, I brought that with me. >> That's cool. >> Yeah. Going through some of the stuff. >> It's funny how you can make these things look like a million bucks with some paint and stickers. Yeah. Is that going to be your new project? >> Oh, do you want me to turn it pink? >> No. Okay, we'll leave it like this. the old thing. It's about time to load it on up. This car has been part of my life in some shape or form since 2009. Was the first time I saw it. I remember I was in the hospital with pneumonia for a week. It was really bad. And like the day after I got home, I was playing with an RC car in the front yard. Mr. Forbes comes rolling down the hill with this giant ass thing. I'm like, "What is that?" I'd never seen a Rolls-Royce before, ever. I only seen him in, you know, like little magazines or books you get at the school book fair or whatever. See one in person with the big floating center caps that didn't that stayed upright and all that. It was cool. Left an impression on me. That's why I bought it. Leo thinks he's good at hunting. I've never seen him catch anything but a left hook from another cat. Stop. Stop. Just give it a quick bump. It'll roll the rest of the way. It's still It's on the jack, >> so don't tug it off the jack. Just Just get it. Yeah. Don't Don't stand between it. >> I would rather that happen than it is. >> No, no, no. I don't want you getting hurt. [laughter] Just It's a car. Huh? >> Pull your truck forward. Just creep it forward like 10 ft. >> Yeah. >> And then it'll We can straighten out as a >> as that happens. >> Every time we've had to move this thing, it's been a big ordeal because it's air suspension. So, it's bottomed out obviously cuz the pump's not running and you got to pull a little release to take it out of park. So, it'll free roll, but I mean it would have brakes, but you have to push them and there's nowhere to sit. And it is 1,000 ft long. It has no turning radius because it's bottomed out. It's tough. It's tough to move this car. >> I haven't seen it outside in a long time. >> Oh, me neither. [laughter] What is the tank carcass? >> The gas tank is in between that fire. >> That's the gas tank >> on the back seat. Behind the back seat. Yes. >> No way. Look at that. >> Yeah. Who would have thought? >> It's cool. And the amount of sound sound deadening that went into this is insane. Like >> I was going to Is it mainly all this stuff? >> Uh like sponge stuff a lot. >> Okay. So it's cuz when I redo it, I'm going to actually put in dynamat, then a layer of the closed cell foam. >> Yeah. >> Or open cell foam, whatever it's called. Then another layer dynamat to make it even I don't know if you can make a Rolls-Royce quieter, but I'm going to I'm going to attempt it. >> Right. >> Yeah. >> Anybody else would be crying about that right now, right? [laughter] Oh my god. >> That is not even the most precarious thing that this car has had to do to get on and off of a [laughter] a transit. So >> yeah, that was pretty successful loading. >> That was a lot better than the flatbed. >> No, I appreciate that. Appreciate you helping. >> No problem. >> Yeah. When you get home, don't go watch that video. Yeah. >> Make it sound like I'm hurting you. >> You have the freedom to let go whenever you want. [laughter] >> This is our dog, Shelby. Shelby is obviously very active and we do a lot of fetch outside. But one thing that kind of sucks is she has allergies. You might just think the normal dog behaviors like chewing on their paws or shaking itchy ears, paw licking, grass eating, diarrhea. Shelby does all of these in mixed amounts at some point or another. So, you think allergies got to be affecting dogs everywhere cuz people just think that these are what dogs do, but they're not. Dog allergies are up 30% in the last decade. Modern living weakens your pet's gut. Exposure to pollen, dust, mold, or even human dander makes allergies worse. 90% of your dog's immune system lives in the gut. A weak gut can put your dog at risk, more vulnerable to allergens. Not only is this such a common problem, but allergy meds are so expensive with side effects like a weak immune system. So, what can you do? This is Better Wild. Better Wild makes vet design soft chew supplements for your dog's immune system and overall health. And they taste good, too. I don't know that for a fact. I haven't tried them, but Shelby really likes them. I'm not going to eat one. They have three main products. their allergy soft shoes, dental and multivitamin soft shoes, and their joint relief soft chews. Better Wild actually uses a proprietary blend of wolf probiotics to help balance your dog's gut microbiome. It is inspired by nature. Wolves naturally maintain strong guts, teeth, and joints, and your dog is 99% wolf. Go to better wild.com/stapleton or click the QR code for an exclusive Better Wild offer. Your dog will love it. >> I'm not going to like try to restore it, right? I mean, it's not worth it. It's going to be however I want it to be, you know, >> but I do want it drivable. It' be fun. And if the engine doesn't work, then it's going to become more fun. You know, [laughter] I'm going to do something else with it. But it's in too good a condition, too. I, you know, he was like, "We can do an LS swap. We can do something." And I was like, "Well, let's just I'd like to just find the motor." But if you look up these, the Rolls-Royce motor, even though it's just a BMW motor, >> if you look up Rolls-Royce, 23,000 bucks. >> Yeah. >> For a lock, a long block. >> That's cool. >> Hit the road. >> Sounds good. >> Appreciate it. Yeah, man. It's good meeting you and >> I hope to hear about what you guys got going on, too. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. We'll keep you informed and hope you do the same. >> Yeah, I will do the same. Yeah, that thing would be pretty cool making that sound on its own, but maybe later in life. Now, I know you guys want to see this thing. This is a 2013 John Deere 319D. I feel like Doug Demiro right now. This is a 23. No, I like Doug. Anyway, it's just what he had. I didn't get to pick it. I didn't get to do research and choose which skid steer track load or whatever you call them is the best one cuz I have a tendency to research the absolute be Jesus out of everything. But this thing, I don't I got no input. Just what he [clears throat] had. So now it's what we have. The thing about this machine, the controls are a little different. It's got hand foot controls. So, it kind of runs like a zeroturn mower in the sense that this controls that track. This controls that track. In the last video you saw of clearing all this out, that had what they call ISO controls or pilot controls. You know, your left hand does all the motion and your right hand is the bucket and boom, operation. And your feet don't really do anything. There's a pedal there for the RPM. That's it. I will say that this configuration is really weird because I'm pretty tall. So, I'm 6'5 and I'm kind of wadded up in here and the RPM is just a a dial. There's no pedal component of that. I haven't I got to put all this back together. I ordered a new uh polycarbonate cover for this. It's definitely lived outside forever since it was new in 2013. I have not inspected squat on here. I can't move the dang seat back. I think it's seized up. Now, from what I understand, this hand foot control method is really old school. Like if somebody was running a bulldozer back in the day, it would have run like this. So, a lot of the like older generation guys would prefer this method. But for new guys who just get into something, it's easier to pick up on the the ISO deal because it's kind of is easier. I guess it makes more sense. But yeah, there's a a certain subset of people who love the hand foot controls. It's kind of like the manual transmission equivalent of uh equipment operation. If you're new here, make sure you're subscribed with notifications turned on, so you'll see when we post videos using this stuff. But we figured we'd uh give you a little preview right now. You ready to drive this thing? >> I've never driven it. >> You haven't driven this? You haven't driven the Humvey either. And I think that both of those need to happen before this video is over. Cool. >> All right, get in. >> Can I feed my kitties first? >> Yeah, it might start raining again, but go ahead. >> Well, should I just set this down? >> Yeah, you can feed the kitties if it's raining. Here in North Carolina, starting about the second week of July, it rains every day at the same time. Almost every day. It's impossible to escape. Put the uh harness the bar down. Watch out for that thing. You'll have to move that. Ready to get some screws and put that back together. Yeah. Yeah. Hold the key on. This is why new machines don't have this control cuz it's weird. The pedals rock on the middle. They don't just push in like a gas pedal. So to to put this back, you push on the back side of the pedal to make it come down. My boots have heels…
