What happens here
After establishing the layout, the base material undergoes a final round of compaction to achieve maximum density and stability. Screed rails are then placed, typically along the established string lines or existing paver courses, to guide the screeding process. Bedding sand is spread over the compacted base and then screeded off using a long, straight edge (screed bar) pulled along the rails. This action creates a perfectly uniform and level sand bed, which is critical for the finished paver height and prevents settling issues. The screed bed is carefully tapered away from the pool edge to ensure proper water runoff.
Goal: This step involves applying a final round of compaction to the base material and then installing screed rails and screeding off the bedding sand to create a perfectly level and consistent surface for paver placement.
