SUPER EASY REPLACEMENT OF PLASTIC WATER VALVE ON COPPER PIPE!

What happens here

The second repair option involves installing a compression fitting. Start by sliding the compression nut, followed by the brass ferrule, onto the copper pipe. Then, slide the compression valve body onto the pipe, ensuring the ferrule is positioned correctly inside the valve. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the valve body. Use two adjustable wrenches to fully tighten the compression nut: one to hold the valve body steady and the other to turn the nut. Ensure the connection is secure and watertight. Teflon tape or pipe dope is generally not needed on the ferrule itself, but a small amount can be applied to the threads if desired for added sealing.

Goal: Install a new shut-off valve using a compression fitting

Tools and materials

  • Adjustable Wrenches DeWalt — Tightening the compression nut
  • Compression Shut-Off Valve — Replacing the old valve
  • Pipe Dope — Sealing the threads of the compression nut
  • Teflon Tape — Sealing the threads of the compression nut

crazy the number two repair and honestly the second easiest repair is going to be a compression this is one of my favorite fixes right here because compression joints they work really well if you're not a fan of soldering or it intimidates you or whatever this is probably the best repair you're gonna make outside of a solder joint okay so this ferrule sits in here this nut compresses down on this valve and it makes for a watertight seal you don't have to put any teflon any pipe dope if you do put some pipe dope i usually just recommend a little bit around this ring right here because you see those bevels that actually is what helps seal this right there that what is what makes the water tight seal okay so really all you're going to do is get this on just a little bit and it's going to be able to go make sure it's the whole way in and then you want to grab a couple of crescent wrenches or you want to grab a one-stop wrench something like that if you don't have a specialty tool well then you can just take a couple of adjustable jaw wrenches and then you just start tightening this right that hooked up get it nice and tightened and you're good to go so the third way and probably the best
