Stop The Leak In Your Kitchen Sink! Learn How To Replace The Drain Strainer
What happens here
After removing the retaining nut, the drain pipes can be disconnected. Loosen the slip nuts connecting the tailpiece to the bottom of the strainer and to the P-trap. These can usually be loosened by hand, but pliers may be needed if they are tight. Once loosened, pull the tailpiece down and out. Then, push the old strainer up and out of the sink from below.
Goal: Completely remove the old drain assembly.
