Spreading gravel with a dump trailer

What happens here

The creator drives to a nearby 60-acre farm to find appropriate material for the driveway. Using a Bobcat T180 compact track loader, he begins excavating a mix of gravel and finer particles (referred to as 'binder') from a bank in the field. This type of material is crucial for compacting and holding the new driveway surface together.

Goal: Obtain suitable gravel with binding properties.

top dressing. All right. One of the things we're doing is looking for binder. Uh so a nice gravel with hopefully a little bit of binder agent in it. Something that'll stick together cuz what we got is sugar sand. One of the questions that came up before is what is sugar sand? Sugar sand is sand with the consistency of sugar. A mound of sugar. It's like uh the same kind of sand that's in those deserts you see in the movies and they're, you know, they walk try to walk down a hill and they fall down the hill. The sand gives away. That's what we got. So, by trying to grab some gravel with a little bit of a binder agent in it, it'll hopefully stick everything together.
