What happens here

This video details the initial stages of a DIY project to repair a heavily damaged, sand-based driveway. The process involves sourcing and excavating suitable 'binder' gravel from a nearby farm using a Bobcat T180 compact track loader, loading it into an Advanced Nimble Trailer System (ANTS) dump trailer, transporting it to the driveway, and spreading it evenly using the trailer's conveyor system. The creator completes multiple loads of gravel and demonstrates the cleaning process for the specialized trailer.

Good morning, guys. Got a start of a kind of a new project. You guys may recognize it. It's my driveway going into Shangra Lodge. And every year, we pretty much destroy it cuz we're working here all the time. And this is uh just getting worse and worse. So, you can see how much damage we've got to deal with. This actually fills up with water for about 5 weeks, like plum full. And then areas out there fill up as well. But we're going to regravel from here all the way in. I'm not regraveling the main road. That's actually on the county to do that. But here, this is mine. We are going to fix the main road though. But I'm just not going to uh bother putting new gravel over the top of something that isn't my own. But all of this is going to happen. That's going to be our piece of equipment for today's journey. Problem is, this is a lot of sand. A lot of sand. And you look at it, just a lot of sugar sand. And this stuff washes. But that's what we got up here. It's just sand. So, we're going to see if we can't find some gravel. from across the road. We're going to go over to the farm. We're going to just harvest our own. I'm not going to a gravel pit. We're not going to do anything special. We're going to go across to the farm. We've got 60 acres over across there and we're going to dig into the bank and we're going to see if we can't find something worth using as a top dressing. All right. One of the things we're doing is looking for binder. Uh so a nice gravel with hopefully a little bit of binder agent in it. Something that'll stick together cuz what we got is sugar sand. One of the questions that came up before is what is sugar sand? Sugar sand is sand with the consistency of sugar. A mound of sugar. It's like uh the same kind of sand that's in those deserts you see in the movies and they're, you know, they walk try to walk down a hill and they fall down the hill. The sand gives away. That's what we got. So, by trying to grab some gravel with a little bit of a binder agent in it, it'll hopefully stick everything together. up [music] here. Where? Where? [panting] Come on. Little bit of grass in that one, but That's just binder. Try not to drive too reckless. Going bass backwards so you guys don't have too rough of a ride back there. What I'm going to do is uh drop this load off at the end of my driveway because that's a real bad low spot. Trying to get that permanently fixed. raised up. We'll get one more load and then we'll drive down this road and we'll just kind of drop stuff off. See that? That's pretty rough right there. We'll drop off a little right there. We'll drop off on a few other spots. Then we'll get into get into grading. Bring Frankie alo and get into grad. We're going to sneak this one on the passenger side of that dirt pile up there right now and bring it out. Sneak on by right up on that side. Yep. This this area of my driveway is a pool for five weeks out of the year or in any torrential rain. So, we're going to stop that from happening. That's pretty consistent, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah. You boys do good work. I notice we're getting some gravel between the bed and the frame. see what's underneath there and how to clean it. I don't know. Heat. So, what we're getting was right here. I noticed actually still right there. Look it. See that? I don't know if that's a piece of gravel or what that is. Nothing. It's nothing. Okay. So, we're at Frankie's house and we're going to drop some off. I just started. We'll just start right here. Start there. Okay. I'm going to use you. Give me hand signals, will you? Okay. Here you go. All right, we're back at it. Last load. This one's going on the road. This one's going on the road. On the next video coming right down the pipeline, you guys, we're going to take this load of gravel and we're going to find all of the really bad points of the road and we're going to strategically drop the gravel and then we're going to grade it out to a glass-like finish. But that's all we got for you on this one. God bless. [music] Go get them, you guys. Hit that subscribe button and we will see you next time where we grade this driveway out to a glass-like finish.
