What happens here
With the mantel perfectly clean and dust-free, it's time to apply the final topcoat. Reload the airless paint sprayer (TriTech T5 Sprayer with TriTech 510 FF Tip) with your chosen finish paint, which in this case is 'SW Scuff Tuff Matte' (Sherwin-Williams Scuff Tuff Matte). Maintain the same pressure settings (2200 PSI) and spraying technique as with the primer. Apply the paint in smooth, even passes, ensuring complete and uniform coverage across the entire mantel. Utilize a stepladder as needed to comfortably reach and spray the upper sections, ensuring an even finish from all angles. Allow adequate drying time as per the paint manufacturer's instructions.
Goal: Apply a durable and aesthetically pleasing topcoat to the fireplace mantel.
