Simple Toilet Replacement And Quick Fix For Low Toilet Flange!

What happens here

Install an Oatey Set-Rite Toilet Flange Extension Kit to raise the toilet flange to the proper height (1/4 inch above the finished floor). The kit includes a foam gasket, a yellow flange insert, and stainless steel self-tapping screws. First, place the foam gasket over the old flange. Then, insert the yellow flange piece into the old flange, ensuring it sits securely. Before screwing it down, insert the new toilet bolts into the designated slots in the new flange. Use an extra set of nuts and washers to hold the bolts in place, which is preferred over the thinner washers that usually come with the bolts. Screw down the new flange using the self-tapping screws and an impact driver, making sure it's firmly secured to the floor.

Goal: Raise the toilet flange to the correct height and secure it

Tools and materials

  • Impact Driver — Screwing down the new flange
  • Nuts and Washers — Securing the toilet bolts in the flange and eventually the toilet itself
  • Toilet Bolts — Securing the toilet to the flange

but that's still all really good. Now we're going to pop in this OD set right, toilet flange extension kit. I've been seeing these everywhere. It looks like it's a good setup. And we need to raise this up a quarter inch above the finished floor. Phone gasket. That's what's going to go down on top of the flange. Flange that sits down inside of this comes with some big old stainless steel screws. And then a bunch of different other extension pieces. I get that fits in there really well. That's awesome. I'm just going to be that height we're looking for to come out of the floor. This bad boy set around right here. That is way better than what it was. And once it's screwed down, it'll be a great height for a standard wax ring. Before I screw this down, I'm going to put the bolts on and get them exactly where I need to go here. I don't like using these little cheap washers. I always just use an extra set of nuts and washers for this. Now it looks good. You could tell that flange still has some meat. These are self tapping screws. And it's taking a bit to get through that flange.
