What happens here

The process of making brine is demonstrated using a SnowEx brine maker. Bulk salt is loaded into the unit and slowly discharged into a whirlpool of water. A computer in the brine maker continuously reads the salinity level. Once the mixture reaches the optimal 23.3% salinity, which is the definition of brine, it is automatically transferred into large storage tanks. These tanks, typically blue, hold the prepared brine. The facility can produce approximately 1,000 gallons of brine per hour. Additional tanks are brought in during winter to meet increased demand, ensuring a total capacity of around 18,000 gallons.

Goal: Produce ready-to-use brine for snow and ice management.
