listed as unsafe that so his good deal I think his total Shopko was just over 34 000 with labor so a double is what he paid for you can buy that same machine brand new for 68 000. oh jeez and he ended up with a six-year-old one with twenty four hundred dollars on it for more money than a new one looks like the boys at Top Notch are busy today holy crap did you get hey did you get a cast loader in or two ah holy crap you guys well that's that Genesis that's that uh a little more inexpensive one right I think it's like 38.5 or something yeah yeah that's a damn good deal that's a damn good deal nothing less than 40 Grand you can't buy nothing picking up a lift from you guys today yeah here really good we gotta find Harry we gotta find the Man in the Yellow Crocs yeah well there's the boss there's the team there's the team how you doing Dustin how you doing buddy hey harry how are you hey how are you well what uh what's up with no yellow cracks you never have Crocs anymore okay hey dudes yes are those comfortable yeah they're like feathers they don't weigh anything really yeah you got a lift for me Harry yep CMC 42f all right let's go check it out things I mean we're going to be using it to build the deck on a second story but what are guys using these for I'd say painting window washing changing light bulbs and parking lots that type of stuff okay for the smaller ones the bigger ones are primarily used in trees tree industry so a little guy like this is gonna be more of uh your general contractor doing stuff on a house replacing light bulbs how high will it go 42 feet okay and this is made by CMC yes okay but what power is this guy a little Honda okay good good choice of engines a little Honda gas engine you got all your controls are with you up in the up in the bucket so there's no remote control there's a remote to drive it oh there is okay that's stored back here this one also has the optional electric engine so if you want to plug it in when you get to your house because you don't want the Honda running so you can talk to whoever's working on the deck you can just plug it into your wall and switch it to Electric mode and it'll run on a power cord wow just turn it over the battery and it'll switch the battery so some people actually use these inside like a church or a mall I was going to say it they probably put that together for we're inside wind right right okay what's the price on something like this here if you guys wanted to uh pick one up do you guys do you rent them or do you just sell them rental we do sell them this is a rental I want to say they're 60 000 but I have to get back geez everything is so expensive everything everything's sixty thousand hundred thousand there's nothing cheaper no and you wonder why we have to charge so much when we come to your house to work right we got to cover stuff like this just to get up to a place like that you have a little remote on this one and that's primarily just to drive it and set the Outriggers all right well I'm gonna let you guys go because I'm gonna get a quick lesson on how to run one of these things and then we'll be I'll meet you guys back up north so harness is required when you're using one of these Nate what's the what's the procedure you do when you train a guy in to do something like this uh typically it depends you know um the machine itself the renting or buying to purchase if it's going to be a purchase then I go through all the background emergency controls there's a lot of redundant features in them there's actually three or four backups depending on the machine between the electric motor and direct Hydraulics uh hand pump so we spend a lot of time with that but just a renter they go over typically more of the basics what they're going to run into on a typical you know one-day job phone calls are always a thing but uh yeah that's kind of the process of it so I run them through the machine have them fly it go over emergencies have them do a couple other things and then emergencies again just because that's the most important muscle memory muscle memory now I know some of you guys may be in the market to buy ellipse I'm going to ask Harry what would a guy look for if he was going to be in the market to buy a lift what should he what features the first thing is how much height do you need okay or how much reach do you need because heightened the height of the lift you buy also dictates the amount of lateral reach it has so if you're working on say our pole building here you know it's not very high but I'm only going to be able to reach over this Bay and maybe over that window where if I went with a 60 foot at the same level I'm going to reach almost twice as far without having to reset up so there's two things you need to look for is height and reach if you're doing a lot more stuff where you need reach you want to buy a bigger taller lift because that's going to give you more reach which means less repositioning okay if you're looking for compact like the 42 this is probably the most compact one they have so if you need to get in and out of buildings through smaller areas and doorways and don't necessarily need the height this one's going to be about as compact I see you've got expanding tracks so this is again this is a gate machine these only in and out you'll get okay get through those 30 36 inch Gates and is there any structural components we should be focusing on you know that we need to know the good the bad or the in between biggest thing is you know especially if you're buying new most of them the booms are all have to be certified anyway no matter what the brand is but if you're looking at used stuff definitely you're going to want to take a look at at your welds your pressure points you know for any cracking on on welds if you're looking at used stuff my recommendation on anything used is stuff you should buy it from dealer that [Music] shouldn't inspection on it and you know it's safe most of the places where you get your bucket trucks cranes boom trucks they have certified inspectors for aerial equipment that could at least look at the aerial sections for you to make sure you don't have any structural issues with the boom assemblies okay because that kind of stuff can be incredibly expensive you might think you're getting a good deal on a lift so you you found an 83 foot lift for 75 000 bucks do their 160. oh I get this great deal on this you get it all of a sudden the the repair bill when you take it in to have one thing fixed because Brandon catches you got a cracked Weld and just like the DOT when we got anything in here Brandon or our mechanics find a cracked bulb or something unsafe in the structure that thinks it sits you that don't does not leave till it's fixed so you're saying what could be a good deal can bite you in the butt pretty damn fast if you don't catch the nuances so get it inspected or go through a shop that will inspect it for you or have somebody that has an eye for this stuff check it out well really really fast we had not on a CMC but on a nifty 50 the smaller the green ones uh we had one the guy did he goes yeah the turret was just sloppy when I bought it but I got it for 30 grand and you know everything else online was 45. if I recall our cost on the parts was somewhere around 22 000 and he couldn't get that out just on it because it's because you guys are obligated to hold on to it is that right yep I can't give it back to you because if you die in it if I give it back to you it's on back on us well what happened listed as unsafe that so his good deal I think his total Shopko was just over 34 000 with labor so a double is what he paid for you can buy that same machine brand new for 68 000. oh Jesus and he ended up with a six-year-old one with twenty four hundred dollars on it for more money than a new one wow that that's a really crappy deal all right that story has to go in this video as long as my camera stayed on you should stay done all right I'm gonna learn how to run this thing and then we're going north so I will see you guys North you know we made it just fine but I could see where I might buy I mean 60 Grand is a lot of money but I kind of want to buy this lift you guys tell me what do you think or is there a better one because I need I don't I need something that's all you know very versatile but I don't need to get to the tops of trees I need something that I can easily work on properties and not be climbing scaffolding because that's why we quit on the front of the house it was too dangerous it was just too dangerous I kind of want this thing what do you guys think should I go for it 60 Grand [Music] foreign that was far too dangerous for us to do with any other piece of equipment we'd actually tried to do it in the past but it just wasn't going to happen so if you want to see what that is show me the rest of the short story Paul Harvey so just say that just let me know and I'll bring you the next video and I'm probably just going to title it it was far too dangerous to do any other way because it was without this thing that's it for this one God bless go get em you guys let me know if I should buy this or not
