What happens here

This DIY project provides instructions on how to sharpen lawn mower blades using three common methods: an angle grinder, a bench grinder, and a file. It emphasizes maintaining the blade's original factory angle, the importance of balancing the sharpened blade to prevent wear on mower components, and aiming for a durable cutting edge rather than an overly sharp one.

And today, we're going to sharpen some lawnmower blades. Let's get after it. So, there's three main ways to sharpen lawnmower blades. One, angle grinder with a grinding disc, a bench grinder. You can pick these up real cheap at Harbor Freight. And of course, the old school way of a file. Main thing that you got to worry about when sharpening lawnmower blades is just maintaining that factory angle. If you have a bunch of nicks and gouges pretty deep, maybe it's time to get some new ones. Important to get your angle set right and then just run slowly across it. You don't want to dig in this way or this way. Another good method that's basically the same as an angle grinder is your bench grinder. Just go ahead and power it on. And same deal here. Set Set the angle that you want. Then of course, your last way, your old school way, just your file. Probably the slowest way, but also the most precise way. Now, when you're done sharpening, you want to pound a nail in your wall or a screw and go ahead and hang that blade right on the screw there and make sure that it's balanced. Your blade being balanced isn't going to wear out parts like spindles and bearings and everything else. So, make sure that your blade is balanced when you're done sharpening simply by pounding a nail in the wall. And always remember, you don't want a sharp edge, you want a durable edge. So, with that being said, just hit the front with the angle that's already on there from the manufacturer. You don't have to go ahead and hit the back. I got Grass Sumo. I'll catch you guys on the next one. Peace.
