All ellipses are ovals but not all ovals are ellipses. Anyways, let's draw one. Start by drawing a cross. In our case, it's going to be 8 by 4, so just draw an 8-in line. Mark halfway. Draw a 2-in line. Okay, now from this point right here, you're going to draw your 4 in down because 4 in is half of this total line. Go ahead and put your framing square there. Line up your four. And mark it. Line up your four. And mark it. Now we're going to drop three nails, one here, one here, AND ONE HERE. NOW TAKE A PIECE OF STRING. Wrap it tightly around those three. And tie it tight. Pull this nail out right here. Here's a little tip. I like to put a notch in my pencil, so the string will ride in it. Now once you got your string cut and tied, you got your points marked. Put it right in there. Start there. Hit this point. Hit this point. This knot might mess some of you guys up. So I'm going to move that knot there. Hit this point here. And then come back and hit this point. Just like that, you have a perfect oval. It's Sunday. I got stuff to do. I'll catch you guys on the next one. Peace.
