Seeing how these little extra features come together in the end really makes it all worth it!
What happens here
To prepare the main mantle box for assembly, apply painter's tape along the seams where two long planks will meet. This tape can serve both as a guide for adhesive application and to prevent excessive glue squeeze-out onto visible surfaces. Then, apply a generous bead of construction adhesive between these taped lines using a caulking gun. Carefully bring the two planks together, forming the initial V-shape or open box structure of the mantle, ensuring good contact with the adhesive.
Goal: Glue the main wooden planks together to form the mantle body.
